Wooden frames offer the most natural solution. However, they require regular cleaning and maintenance to last a long time. They are therefore not necessarily ideal for rented property, for example.
Their insulation rating is high and they are available in a whole range of colours.
While they offer a lower insulation rating than the other solutions, modern PVC frames are a practical, resistant and inexpensive solution. They are even available in imitation wood.
However, they are the worst option from an environmental point of view since they are not 100% recyclable.
More expensive to buy, aluminium frames have the longest service life and the highest insulation rating. So they are an excellent investment over the long term. They are 100% recyclable and available in a wide range of metallic colours.
