Your gas and electricity meters belong to your distribution system operator, Sibelga.
Sibelga manages and maintains the electricity grid and the natural gas network in the 19 communes of the Brussels-Capital Region, along with the connections to these networks and the meters.
The meters are installed, sealed, opened and read by Sibelga.
Regardless of whether you are the owner or a tenant, the meters in your home do not belong to you. Nevertheless, you have to take care of the area around your meters (the room they are in).
