What personal data do we collect and why?
Website analysis
Each time you visit the websites energids.be and app.energids.be, we collect certain information from you and store it in the statistical analyses provided by Google Analytics and Hotjar. Subscribing to the newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will collect your e-mail address and your first name and surname (optional). We collect data for identification purposes so that we can contact and inform you about the activities of Sibelga, developments in the energy market in Brussels, energy savings opportunities and all other related topics.
When you enter your details into the registration form and click on 'Send', you are giving your consent for us to send you the newsletter. We will save your e-mail address and your first name and surname (if provided) in an e-mail marketing tool until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.
Questions about energy
If you visit our website and ask the Energids team a question, we will collect data for identification purposes, such as your name and e-mail address. We need this information to be able to notify you if a question will not be processed or to inform you when a question will be answered on the website.
We store this information for a period of six months in a secure database on a secure server in Belgium. The data is then rendered anonymous, so that only the questions can still be used as statistical data.
Feedback
When you visit the website and leave feedback on an article, we collect data for identification purposes, such as your name and e-mail address. We collect this data to be able to request further information about the feedback provided or to inform you that the feedback has been processed and the article has been completed or amended accordingly.
We store this information for a period of six months in a secure database on a secure server in Belgium. The data is then rendered anonymous, so that only the questions can still be used as statistical data.
Contact
When you send a contact request via the website, we store data for identification purposes, such as your name, e-mail address and telephone number (optional). We collect this information to be able to provide you with an answer to your contact request.
We store this information for a period of six months in a secure database on a secure server in Belgium.
Energids account
If you create an account with Energids, we collect data for identification purposes, such as your name, e-mail address and postcode, as well as information about your homes, vehicles and energy consumption. We do so to provide you with an overview of your energy consumption and the related costs and to compare your consumption rate with other users.
We store your information and postcode in a secure database on a secure server in Belgium, and save your e-mail address in a tool designed for sending transactional e-mails. We store this information until the account is deleted by the user or following one year of inactivity after the user has been informed.
With whom do we share your data?
Data collected by us is only used internally. We will not share your data with other parties.
Sibelga uses processors. A processor is responsible for processing the personal data collected through the websites energids.be and app.energids.be to ensure that the website works correctly from a technical point of view (data transmission).
How is your data protected?
Sibelga prioritises the protection of your personal data and has taken all requisite technical and organisational measures to that effect. All data that we collect is processed in Belgium and is therefore protected in accordance with European privacy standards. While the servers used by some processors are located in the United States, a European level of protection is guaranteed through the EU-US Privacy Shield.
We also use a secure connection and store your data in secure databases. Through these essential measures, we endeavour to prevent instances of theft, data loss or unauthorised access.
What rights do you have?
