Is there natural gas in my street?

A street in Brussels

Except for some exceptional cases, all buildings and housing in Brussels can be connected to the natural gas network.

In Brussels, work to connect you to the natural gas network is performed by the distribution network operator Sibelga and costs approximately €400. The connection request can be made online.

There are two exceptional situations when a natural gas connection is not possible:

  • in very outlying streets or roads at the edge of the city.
  • with new allotments.

 If you're in one of these two situations, contact Sibelga (02 549 41 00) to check that a connection to the gas network is possible.

How do I submit a request to connect to the gas network in Brussels?

Fill in the gas connection request form on Sibelga's website.

At the end of the process, you will be asked to submit some photos of your location. Please submit very clear photos, which give a comprehensive view of your location. This will help to speed up the process as an engineer will not need to be sent to verify the location.

When doing so, please submit photos:

  • of the room where the meters will be placed;
  • of the location where the pipes go into the building (indoor and outdoor photos);
  • of any current meters.

You do not live in Brussels?
