How much does it cost to replace a meter?

If your meter is quite old, then it may be replaced as part of the systematic replacement process. This is required by law. This systematic replacement is done free of charge, as is the replacement of a faulty meter.

What is free of charge and what is not?

  • Your meters belong to Sibelga. If a meter is obsolete or does not work properly, then it is only logical that it is replaced free of charge.
  • This does not apply when you yourself want a new or adapted meter, even though the old one is still working perfectly. In that case, you pay the costs for the installation and/or adjustment of the meter (e.g. modification of capacity). You never pay for the meter itself.
